Like brands such as Kleenex or Kärcher, the term Ampliroll® has become a commonly used reference for a hooklift system. This phenomenon is known as genericization or, more precisely in linguistics, antonomasia.
Antonomasia consists of using a proper name to refer to a common noun.
In the case of Ampliroll®, the brand’s recognition and the product’s reputation for quality have helped make the name a true reference in the industry.
As Ampliroll® is a registered trademark owned by Marrel, it must always be accompanied by the “®” symbol when used in writing.
